Project Director – Architecture (Based in Singapore)

At the project level, a successful design manager provides design guidance through the lens of the brand and ensures that design standards are adhered to both programmatically and for quality. Candidates will monitor projects through design and construction to ensure hotels open to meet guest expectations. Candidates will work with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering relationships in an atmosphere of collaboration, providing value to our owners, and achieving on strategy solutions

Job Duties:

• Contribute to Facilities programs and feasibility studies in support of new development projects.
• Coordinate and deliver Property Improvement Plans in support of both new development and operating properties.
• Provide Project Design Management for new build, conversion, and extensive renovation projects, including managed, franchised and company-owned hotels, to ensure quality control, brand compliance, operational acceptability, and adherence to standards.
• Manage project design submittal process to scheduled deliverables.
• Track and forecast opening schedules for new development properties.
• Manage design consultants, their proposals, contracts, and invoicing to project objectives.
• Contribute to creation of the project budget and management of project budget.
• Ensure the selection and development of building products relevant to the brand specifications.
• Manage selling the brand and design and negotiation of projects to the external customer.
• Provide information, interpretation, and guidance to outside owners/franchisees as well as internal/design/construction staff for adapting brand standards to specific projects.
• Manage project communication to owners, franchisees, internal project stakeholders and disciplines.
• Participate in design review and construction site visits.
• Responsible for documenting, maintaining, administering, and improving the processes for delivering services.
• May supervise, direct, motivate and train assigned staff.
• May contribute to organizational structure, staff selection, performance management, salary administration, and career planning.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4-year college degree in a related design discipline is required; an accredited Architecture program is preferred.
• 12 or more years progressive experience in architecture at a design firm for hospitality projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project & database mgmt. software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCad, Bluebeam, Adobe).
